Ham and pineapple pizza

This is my favourite flavour of pizza, I know it’s controversial but it’s so delicious with the saltiness of the ham with the sweetness of the pineapple what’s not to love!

Ingredients

For the base

250g strong white bread flour

1/2 tsp salt

1 x sachet instant dried yeast

1 tbs (tablespoon) olive oil

180ml water

For the topping

2 tbs passata with 1 tsp mixed herbs mixed in

2 slices ham – can be any you enjoy

3 slices pineapple cut into chunks and dried with a cloth

40g mozzarella cut into slices

2 tbs Parmesan

30g cheddar cheese finely grated

Cracked black pepper

Drizzle of olive oil

Method

Start by mixing you ingredients for the base in a large bowl

Turn out and knead well by stretching and folding, for 10 mins until soft and smooth

Pop back into the bowl and leave to rise for 2-3 hours until at least doubled in size

Preheat your oven and baking tray in a hot oven 200 fan

Turn out the dough and knock back – knocking all of the air out of the dough

Sprinkle the work top with a mix of polenta and flour, shape your dough into a round by stretching and pulling the dough to around 40cm

Place onto a preheated baking tray or pizza stone

Start putting your toppings on with passata first and mozzarella last followed by the pepper and a drizzle of oil

Bake for 15 mins when the cheese should be melty and delicious. This is also really good cold for lunch the next day!
